Appaloosa
In the late 1800's, the Indian Pony of the Nez Perce became known as "A Palouse" horse, named for the Palouse River that ran through the area around Oregon and Washington, home to the Nez Perce. The Nez Perce were known as expert horsemen, and through their practice of selective breeding, the Appaloosa developed into hardy, athletic equines. The coloring of these spotted mounts is such that no two Appaloosas are alike, in color or comformation.
Original pen & ink rendering. I work from photographs and would be glad to discuss commission work for a portrait of your horse. Myrtlewood plates and gift boxes feature laser engravings of the artwork, and make excellent gifts for all occasions. To view examples of these items, please visit the "Products" Gallery of this website. Additional product lines, such as T-Shirts, Sweat Suits, Mugs, Calendars and more are available through my CafePress storefront. Please contact me for more information, or visit my CafePress storefront.
