Even casual observers will
notice a decidedly Southwestern flair or flavor to my renderings. This
affinity for the West stems from nearly 20 years living in the Colorado
Springs area. While visiting Cripple Creek, I was particularly drawn to the
artwork of Carole Bourdo, whose wildlife and Native American renderings
captured all the beauty and detail of the subject, while sacrificing none
of the dignity or character. A self-taught artist, this was exactly what I
was striving for in my own renderings, and after meeting Carole, I was encouraged
to pursue my goal of selling my artwork. I developed my
Faces West folio of Western and Native American
portraits, among which is the "Young Warriors"
series of limited-edition prints.
My wildlife and western portraits have been exhibited in
various galleries in Colorado, among them Emily Ingram Gallery in Steamboat Springs
and Greer Gallery in Colorado Springs. I also exhibited at the Air Force Academy
in Colorado Springs, winning the First Place - Drawing award in 1996. In Florida,
I have exhibited at Adams Art Gallery and D. Rhodes Gallery, both in Ft. Pierce
and Huston's Office Plus in Stuart, as well as Two Feathers Gallery, located
in Melbourne. My original titled "Mesa Verde" was
featured at the Martin County Council of the Arts exhibit in Stuart in May of
1999

Currently, my wildlife note-cards are featured at the Brevard Zoo in Melbourne and the Manatee Center and the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, both in Fort Pierce, as well as the Sea Turtle Preservation Society and the Turtle Coast Chapter of the Sierra Club, both of Melbourne.
While living in Florida, I started my Signature Hole Rendering program with various golf courses in and around Stuart, Melbourne, and Jacksonville. To view some of these renderings, please visit the Golf section of this website. Now living near Salem, Oregon, I am expanding my Signature Hole Rendering program to the beautiful golf courses of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. I have also done a series of renderings of the historical buildings located at the Mission Mill Museum of Salem, Oregon, and this work can be seen there as note-cards, postcards and myrtle-wood collector's plates. To view samples of these renderings, please visit the Homes pages. I will also be expanding the Faces West folio of Native American portraits to include the different tribes and cultures of this region as well.
